Mapos at the Whitney

We hate to admit it, but sometimes work can be tedious– even for architects! At Mapos, we never want any of our work to be less than inspiring, so we struck out in search of our own inspiration at the Whitney Museum of American Art. We selected the Whitney because they are currently showing an exhibition of work by Carmen Herrera. Bold geometric patterns, crisp lines, and popping color characterize much of her work here. She plays with negative space, seeming to create structures on her canvass, representing unique perspectives which can be disorienting and altogether beautiful. We were also lucky enough to catch Dreamlands, the Whitney’s immersive exhibition that explores the relationship between technology, narrative, and art. Take a look at some pictures of the trip !
