An integral part of creating an immersive experience is the collection of specific objects within the space. Mapos designs custom lighting, furniture, and fixtures as part of the overall design strategy.
For LivePerson’s new corporate headquarters in New York, Mapos decided to re-use as much of the existing materials (primarily those left behind by the vacating tenants of the space) as possible, for both environmental and budgetary concerns. Here, Mapos re-appropriated old lighting fixtures for the creation of this chandelier in LivePerson’s new office kitchen.
As with the new chandelier, Mapos designed and fabricated this workstation prototype entirely from materials collected from space before Liveperson moved in; materials that would otherwise have been destined for a landfill.
The components from the old, existing workspace desks were reappropriated and re-used in the design of the new workstation prototype.
Following the second phase of design, one difference is the addition of more open breakout spaces on the third floor. These open areas feature comfortable chairs and monitors for Skype calls and quick conversations.
Mapos created custom furnishings and light fixtures throughout the entire project, intermingled with select furnishings and artwork sourced from local vendors and artisans.
The custom designed floor and wall fixtures were made out of standard construction materials and re-purposed “found” materials on the job site.
Built on a modular system, these flexible fixtures can be easily re-configured and transform the Sales Floor for the many events, lectures, and product launches that are a part of Green Depot’s offering.
Mapos also created custom lighting fixtures that highlight the products and illuminate the store at loads 50% below ASHRAE standards—a new benchmark for retail.
Fresh Shop Design
Mapos designed this custom Chandelier, inspired by modern alchemy and made up of glass molecule-like bubbles emphasizing Fresh’s leadership in science and innovation.
Caudalie US Headquarters
The Mapos-designed reception desk was inspired by wine tasting tables as well as the work of Jean Prouvé, and features lighting reclaimed from an abandoned factory.
Throughout the space are custom furnishings designed by Mapos, including the light fixture in the lobby as well as the painted steel light fixture on the third floor.
Citizen Flagship Store
A prominent cantilever on the floor fixtures lightens and modernizes the traditional watch display, and also represents Citizen’s commitment to innovation and engineering.
Icebreaker Touch Lab
Adjacent to the fitting room area underneath a wood-framed canopy is the community space. It offers a more intimate scaled place where people can sit and wait for their friends in the fitting rooms while perusing books and magazines on a variety of subjects related to the Icebreaker brand and lifestyle, including outdoor adventure travel and sustainable design.
