Williams Street Loft // New York, NY

For this 850 square foot loft on Williams Street in downtown New York, Mapos was asked by a young professional couple to transform their newly purchased “shoebox” studio so that it could accomodate multiple overlapping and sometimes exclusive modes: sleep, entertain, store, work, eat, host, high-volume, low-volume, light, and dark. The solution utilized selective fixed and moveable millwork interventions conceived to serve double duty, addressing the additional challenge of limited space and budget.
